What is Shadowmatch?
Shadowmatch is a sophisticated worksheet enabling companies to determine what the critical success factors are for people working under particular or general working conditions in a specific area of an organisation. The top performers complete the worksheet, after which the algorithms in the system then generate the map of this group, called the Benchmark Group or Shadow. The Shadow can be described as the collective habits of the group in one person that would be the best fit for the job. Anyone within or outside the organisation then completes the same worksheet and the system will match the results of this/these individuals with the Benchmark or Shadow.
A further purpose of the system is to assist new recruits, as well as current employees to develop those areas in which they lack the relevant level of competence in order to maximise their success within the organisation, as well as in their own careers. This is achieved by providing the organisation and the individuals with Personal Development Programmes in the form of guided practical learning outcomes to develop those areas necessary for the individual to grow towards better performance in the organisation or specific division or position.
It is important to note that different areas in an organisation will need different habits towards success. This benchmark for success is determined by the habits of the group of successful employees working in that division. Shadowmatch can create a unique benchmark for each division in the business. It can then match an outsider to all the benchmarks in the company in order to determine where the best fit for the individual will be.
The development of the Shadowmatch System took a team of specialists ten years to complete. Extensive research and testing were done in order to ensure sound scientific results (Total testing was done across 800 individuals in 16 test batches of 50 each). For those who are interested in the scientific technicalities and working of the Shadowmatch algorithms: Shadowmatch combines fuzzy logic, probability logic/theory and complexity logic/theory into a dynamic consistency matrix without any pre-defined profile of the so called ‘ideal profile’ myth (The research team doesn’t believe that an ‘ideal profile’ for individuals exists).
There is some training involved for the system administrators in order to maximise the benefits of this application. Although the results presented by Shadowmatch are user friendly, proper interpretation increases the value to be gained by investing in the system.
